Performance Wear
The dress code for WCC gives members a range of choice, while aiming to make the Choir look more cohesive. Choir colours now fall into 2 categories:
black, and sea colours – i.e. anything from sea blue, through aquamarine, turquoise and jade to sea green
As a reminder, the code guidelines are as follows:
- Bottom half BLACK (trousers, skirts, dresses)
- Top half BLACK or SEA COLOURS
- If black is used for the top half, choir members may like to add a touch of sea colour, in the form of a scarf, tie, cravat, jewellery, etc. This is not obligatory – all black is fine if that’s what you choose.
- All colours and blacks should all be plain, not patterned
We don’t extend these guidelines to bits that don’t show (though we’d hate to prevent anyone from rushing out to splurge on new turquoise underwear!), but socks and T shirts do tend to, so please colour match if you can. So the choice is yours - there are no rules about style or fashion, only common sense. And finally, although we can all recall days when the sea was a dull grey, we don’t include that in our colour range!
WCC is not a formal choir, but out of respect for our audiences we should aim for a smart-casual look.
